About Business Counsel

We help you grow by cutting what you don't need to spend.

Business Counsel started with a simple idea: businesses shouldn't need a full-time procurement team to know whether they're paying a fair price for gas, electricity, telecoms, or card processing. We built a team that audits those costs for a living, so you don't have to.

What we do

We specialise in cost reduction for commercial accounts — electricity, gas, telephone and broadband — and offer most of our utility auditing services on a contingency-fee basis: we only charge if we save you money. Alongside that, our tax specialists and chartered accountants handle compliance, and our technology team builds and hosts the applications, EPOS systems and websites businesses actually run on.

It's a broader remit than a typical utility broker, by design — the same instinct that finds you a saving on your electricity bill is useful applied to your tax position, your payment processing, or the software holding your business together.

A London street of commercial premises, the kind of business Business Counsel works with.

How we work

Three principles, no exceptions.

  • We only win when you do

Most of our utility and cost-reduction work runs on a contingency-fee basis. If we can't find you a saving, we don't charge you for looking.

  • Real people, on the phone

You'll deal with people who pick up the phone and explain things in plain terms — not a portal or a ticket queue.

  • We do the paperwork

Comparing suppliers, negotiating contracts, managing the switch — we handle the admin so it doesn't land on your desk.
